It’s the first, all firsts are epic
I’m sure most of you have heard of the indie film “On Thin Ice” starring Verniece Enciso and James Reid. If not, well “On Thin Ice” is an indie movie made by a group of DLSU students which is currently an entry for the Indie Un-Film 2012. It’s also an indie movie that I was looking forward to watch. Some of you may know that I enjoy watching indie movies and I skate a lot during my younger years so I could pretty much relate to it. Besides this, it’s the first Filipino movie that features the world of figure skating. I know figure skating has been seen on some local films like “Mamarazzi” but it’s not really qualified since it didn’t revolved on the figure skater, herself.
[Please ignore the coming soon]
I was so glad this morning when I found out I already had a ticket to Indie Un-Film thanks to Ms. Kit de Silva (the director of the film) but the joy only lasted for a few hours. Apparently, due to unforeseen circumstances, I would not be able to go to La Salle tomorrow. I told Ms. Kit this and I’m glad she was understanding enough. I do hope there is still a next time and I promise Ms. Kit that I’d surely buy tickets. Another thing is, I hope “On Thin Ice” inspires the industry to make mainstream figure skating movies which are worthy enough of the big screen like “Ice Castles”, “Cutting Edge” and “Snowden on Ice” and not like most cheesy movies now that are more of TV movies…

Now, enough of my useless ranting. I invite you to support “On Thin Ice” at the Indie Un-Film 2012. The other details are on the image above and the open house tomorrow is at 1pm. I heard it’s good so hurry tomorrow to DLSU Main, okay? Then tell me what you think about it.
